I began designing websites when I was first offered to design a website for a friend's mother who does murals. Embarassingly, it was a horribly ugly site. But since then I have designed a few more sites, and did a redesign on her site. Now I'm hooked on web designing, and although I'm not great yet, my skills have grown exponentially since 2007 when I started.

Project LA

Website design/development for an experimental film project. Standards XHTML/CSS with some Javascript Apps and a Wordpress blog. The site should be live soon.

Experimetrix Contextual Redesign

A group project for my Cognitive Design class. We chose to contextually redesign a website used for students to sign up for psychology experiments. Complete contextual redesign + Standards XHTML/CSS. The focus of the project was not on aesthetic design though but functionality, so design took a back seat.

Graphic

I occasionally do some graphic work such as logo design or ad design. Usually I just do them for my fraternity or for other student orgs. Not much to show here yet, but hopefully I will have more up soon.

Photography

A brief summary of my photography experience: I am not a great photographer. I enjoy photography, but I don't think it's my calling. What I enjoy more is taking those photographs and editing/manipulating them in Photoshop. But here is a selection of some of the photographs I have taken all of which the Photoshopping is minimal, only for touching up*.
*with the exception of Eden which combined 2 photographs.

Film

I've always been sort of a film geek, although my brother would beg to differ. However I never really made any films untill I started taking some film classes at U.C.S.D. to complete my Media major. After that I started enjoying make some short films, and realized I have a inclination towards looking at a computer screen because I realized I like editing much more than filming.

Digital Art

Apart from oil painting which I haven't done in a while, I've been making digital art for the longest time as an artist/designer. I began in 2002 with Photoshop and have kept doing it since. I like combining mutliple methods and techniques into all my Photoshop creations. I always like to find new tutorials and advanced techniques to add to my collection. I definitely enjoy Photoshopping a good ammoutn and I only wish I had more time to do it.

Cognitive Science

Before 2 years ago, I did not know what Cognitive Science was. Now I'm fascinated by it. I am currently on my way to completing a minor in Cognitive Science to go along with my Media major. I think this field complements beautifully with any sort of graphic/web design by introducing cognitive aspects of how the audience will view/use a design. In fact my most recent project was a Contextual Redesign of a U.C.S.D. website because of it's aweful functionality toward users.

A short paper based on a photo-interview of a DJ describing ways in which the DJ uses his environment as well as suggestions for further improvement.

A short paper on my experience of the San Diego fires and how I made sense of the situation through the modularity of community and the redundant flow of information.
